The wikitext editor <textarea> element has a CSS class "mw-textarea-protected" when a protected page is being edited. This can be used to provide custom styling for this textarea, mainly in order to alert sysops that they are editing a fully protected page.

A similar CSS class name should somehow be provided for VE.
