Description Kelson [Emmanuel Engelhart] 2013-07-09 09:12:03 UTC
QRpedia is a software solution allowing to display localised Wikipedia article by scanning a QRcode.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QRpedia

QRpedia was a private project which was transferred to Wikimedia UK chapter a few months ago:
http://blog.wikimedia.org.uk/2013/04/announcement-qrpedia-donated-to-wikimedia-uk/

WMUK wants to use Wikimedia software development infrastructure to host and continue the development of the software solution.

This is why, on behalf of WMUK, I make here the request to:
* Open a new "QRpedia" product in the Bugzilla
* Create a new QRpedia git repository base on the old one http://code.google.com/p/qrwp/source

These are two different requests, one for Git/Gerrit and one for Bugzilla, so for the future please create two tickets.

See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bug_management/Project_Maintainers#To_add_a_project_or_component for required information.

Hmm - https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Wikimedia&component=Git/Gerrit says in the "Component Description" that repository creation requests should be filed at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Git/New_repositories/Requests instead, but no idea about the importing, hence keeping this ticket open.

Thank you for the links, I failed again :(

A few additional information:
* description: QRpedia is a mobile Web based system which uses QR codes to deliver Wikipedia articles to users, in their preferred language.
* Project page: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/QRpedia
* Product without sub-components
* Owner: kelson@kiwix.org
* Default CC: tech@wikimedia.org.uk
* Voting: yes

I have also created an entry in the dedicated page to request the git repo.

The 'new repositories request' procedure also handles importing history
of projects. Just state “Please import the history from project XYZ” in
your request.

Git not handled here, hence moving to Bugzilla component.

The product has been created. However, I cannot add tech@ikimedia.org.uk as a CC because all emails must be registered through Gerrit first.

If you can register that through Gerrit, I'll add it as a default CC.

I think you meant Bugzilla instead of Gerrit. :)

Thank you Tyler. I think we will keep it then like it is (only with my account in CC).
