Per user report on IRC, the password reminder feature still sends out mails even when $wgEnableEmail is set to false.

I haven't tried to reproduce it yet.

Which MediaWiki version is this about? Is the website public to test this? Or does this refer to a WMF wiki? Pretty vague steps to reproduce....

This was already fixed in Gerrit change #53323.
