We should send POST requests destined to one of the wikimedia api.php end points to api.svc.pmtpa.wmnet instead of the text squids. We still need to set the appropriate HOST header for the wiki. This will remove an unnecessary LVS and Squid traversal, and thus cut down on latency. POST requests are not cached in any case.
