Hi

For not logged in users (in non VE environment) [[MediaWiki:Anoneditwarning]] should display ULS - selction of input method option list for content language in an horizontal manner (to save the space) since currently [[File:WMF-Agora-Input settings-000000.svg|10px]] sign apearing in a distant corner of edit window is not a clear enough indication to a new anon user.

*Purpose in those namespaces where VE support is not available

*To understand further the need for above request, please do refer to survey
data and analysis provided at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Universal_Language_Selector#feature_to_make_content_language_input__default_28864

Please provide a screenshot of the current problem that you would like to solve, plus a link to reproduce.

Please summarize the points made there instead of making me read a long thread.

Thanks for the picture, but I still don't understand why this is proposed, and what the current problem is, and how "MediaWiki:Anoneditwarning" is related.

The basic limitations of ULS input method enablement and problems there of, I have discussed already at multiple bugs and ULS feedback page , so now I am tired of copy pasting them any more.

As an admin keen to provide support to new bies with a funda that right support at right place and right time I want to add this horrizontal selection facilty to this local message and some other support pages too wherever as an sysop it deem fit suits local needs of my wiki.

Not sure if this setup was tested and covered by http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/File:ULS_Usability_testing_summary.pdf
Comment 7 Siebrand Mazeland 2013-09-02 11:46:24 UTC
Given the obtrusive solution that is proposed here, impacting also those not interested in input methods, where the current approach is "discoverable, and not obtrusive", I have decided to close this feature request as WONTFIX. The main reason is that the proposed solution is not desirable from a UI perspective.
