While testing bug 51863, I was able to get into a state where clicking on the inserted image, then pressing delete did nothing.

After focusing on image->text->image a few times the delete key worked again.

I think this is mostly a "crashed editor is crashed" bug. :-( Marking as WORKSFORME, but if you can (even unreliably) reproduce now, please re-open.
