Submitted per Sumana's suggestion. In order to change my email address in Gerrit, I went to Gerrit settings, and changed it there. Apparently this is not the right way to do it, and it needs to be changed in wikitech for LDAP which will push it to Gerrit. My suggestion is to block people from changing it at the Gerrit level, and to provide an error message prompting them to change it at Wikitech at LDAP level. This will save them a lot of the pain I experienced. When my account info was pulled over to Gerrit from LDAP, it changed the email and account info such that I could not log into Gerrit for several days until Ryan fixed the issue.
You can't change your email address through gerrit, but you can add additional identities and you can set your preferred email address. Are you saying that gerrit changes your preferred email address back to what's in LDAP?
