Description Juliusz Gonera 2013-07-26 22:35:28 UTC
I tried resetting password for account Juliuszgonera three times. The result is always the same.

1. I get an email with temporary password.
2. I log in and set a new password in the form that shows up.
3. Immediately after that I get a message saying that my password is incorrect. Neither the temporary password nor the one I just set work.

Tried on enwiki, using Firefox 22.

I just tried this with fresh accounts on FF 23 and Chrome 28 on enwiki, and it's working for me.

Where you doing this locally or via a VM? When testing via Sauce and similar, I often run in to issues using tools like account creation, password reset, and similar because the IPs associated with these tend to be blocked as proxies and such.

Locally, connected to WMF network in the office.

Juliusz: Is this still an issue?

I'm able to reproduce this on wikitech (but not on WMF wikis with the password of my choice): bug 56114. Juliusz, did your test password include some rare Unicode character? Not all characters work with all hashing systems (but I don't know more than this).

Juliusz: Can you answer comment 4, please?

It seems to be working for me now.
