Description Alex Matulich 2013-08-12 21:53:24 UTC
The Android app is decent for quickly looking stuff up, but for getting any actual work done on Wikipedia, it really needs a way for me to log in to my account and edit pages. There is no obvious way to do this.

Just checking: have you tried editing from your mobile browser?
Comment 2 Alex Matulich 2013-10-04 23:37:24 UTC
Yes, of course. However, editing from the mobile browser isn't really relevant to this report, which is specific to the Android Wikipedia app. Seeing something that requires editing while using the app, and then having to switch over to the mobile browser to edit doesn't seem practical. If the mobile browser is intended to substitute for the app, is the app to be deprecated eventually?
Comment 3 Yuvi Panda 2013-10-05 08:21:18 UTC
Hello!

The app has been in maintenance mode for a while. But we're rewriting it starting next month to not suck - and editing is definitely on the cards :)

Starting new code base. This will be prioritized at a later date.
Comment 5 Quim Gil 2013-10-30 22:22:39 UTC
... but starting a new codebase doesn't make this report more or less valid. Wouldn't it be better to reopen it and set the right priority according to your new plans?
