add an API to allow registering users in apps, like commons, or wiki loves monuments.

marking as blocker, as WLM starts soon, and this seems to be dragged on for 3 years now.

Noting core has an account creation core. Which means commons does.

What are you actually wanting adding and where?

See http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bugzilla/Fields#Severity for the meaning of Severity fields. This is a request for new functionality, hence setting "enhancement".

reedy, that would be excellent if it is already there. if you could tell what a mobile app should call to create the account?

Account creation API is already there ([[mw:API:Account creation]]) but it doesn't really work on WMF wikis due to CAPTCHA (bug 46072) thus unusable for WLM apps.

Marking as a duplicate of bug 46072 because when bug 46072 is resolved, this bug (asking for an API to use for WLM, which is held on Commons) is resolved too at the same time.
