Description Pete F 2013-08-28 20:04:10 UTC
The "edit count" tool, which was previously hosted on the toolserver, and which is a pretty important tool, seems to be substantially broken when trying to use it on Commons. Whatever user I try to use it on, it gives me a page full of error messages instead of the proper output. (It works fine for English Wikipedia and Wikisource, haven't tested elsewhere.)

In an IRC chat, bawolff had this to say about the issue:
the person who programmed the tool made a mistake
460/461 is the namespace number for campaign namespace, maybe they didn't account for people adding new namespaces over time

This is pretty far outside my expertise, I'm only reporting what I heard. But I hope there is an easy fix?

It appears that commons has new namespaces. They need to be added to the counter.
Comment 2 Cyberpower678 2013-08-28 22:00:14 UTC
How do I change the status of this bug?
Comment 3 Pete F 2013-08-28 22:32:58 UTC
Right below the bottom comment (now this one) there's a "status" drop-down menu. Is that what you're looking for? Thanks for taking note!
Comment 4 Cyberpower678 2013-08-28 22:34:57 UTC
It's not a drop down for me. It just says new. Am I doing something wrong? I'm not all too familiar with Bugzilla.
Comment 5 Cyberpower678 2013-08-28 22:36:09 UTC
Bugs regarding the edit counter should actually be assigned to me.
Comment 6 Bawolff (Brian Wolff) 2013-08-28 22:36:48 UTC

If you don't see the drop down, ask andre or thehelpfulone for editbugs rights. (Or just ask someone else to change the status)

Changing asignee to you, and status to "assigned"
