Endless spinner

Loading [[en:Baghdad]] and then tapping the articles near by shows me a spinner that never goes away for "Loading topics near you current location" even though there are articles below. Screenshot attached.

Verified both on a Nexus4 (4.3) and iOS simulator (6.1)

Yeh there is a patch in gerrit that fixed this but it hasnt been merged yet. I refactored a lot of the nearby code and it seems patch 2 out of the 3 left nearby articles in a broken state :(
