Description wmr 2013-09-18 05:39:34 UTC
I wonder if J/K shortcuts for go to next/previous section(secondary title) can be added. It will be convient for keyboard users to read article and especially discussion pages.

Whoever have used Google Reader or using Digg Reader may familiar with this feature.

Do you refer to the browser?
Only using J or K might interfere with type-ahead search functionality.
Which browser do you use?

No. I'm not refering to the browser. I'm proposing a new function for the Mediawiki software.
Comment 3 Andre Klapper 2013-09-19 10:58:08 UTC
As far as I know, the MediaWiki software is run on a server which is accessed by a browser (or by other tools accessing its API, like RSS readers). Still you end up with some software and a device that you need to access the Mediawiki software.

Please elaborate and provide steps (step by step) to reproduce the situation in which you would expect such a shortcut, so others could follow your steps.

I mean if you press the "j" key, the browsing area goes to the next section. if you press the "k" key, the browsing area goes to the previous section.

As I wrote before such a proposal would for example collide with type-ahead search in Firefox.
