It is not easy, but you can create an empty wikilink with VE, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ascending_cholangitis&curid=5544827&diff=572776141&oldid=566427601 (I was able to reproduce that somehow, I think I just added the link to an empty space).
I can't imagine a situation where this is desirable or useful, please correct me if I am wrong.
