Description Matthew Flaschen 2013-10-02 06:42:07 UTC
UDP logging for search is currently disabled. However, it would be good to be able to track the main errors. An example of one that seems important (which I was receiving earlier tonight) is:

An error has occurred while searching: HTTP request timed out

If we're interested in timeouts only/mainly, the log for "Search backend error" could be split from mwsearch to its own log, if necessary.
Other than that, this is just a config change (Wikimedia product) I think?

This is mostly a WONTFIX for MWSearch at this point as we're moving full steam ahead towards Cirrus for everyone. The logging situation there is generally improved with slow queries and timeouts.
