Subject: featured.py: About page sorting
Assigned to: xqt
Original description:
featured.py: I think good to sort by page-title's utf-8. For "-after" arguments. Now, FAs / GAs from template or category are sorted by pageids or sortkeys.
Comment 1 Kunal Mehta (Legoktm) 2013-10-05 04:18:35 UTC
Sorry, I am at a loss. Could you explain?
Comment 2 Kunal Mehta (Legoktm) 2013-10-05 04:18:37 UTC
- **assigned_to**: nobody --> xqt
- **status**: open --> open
Comment 3 Kunal Mehta (Legoktm) 2013-10-05 04:18:39 UTC
I recognize that.
MediaWiki sort backlinks of template by pageid and category's pages by sortkey.
These are not sorted by Unicode.
But, "after" parameter compare Unicode of these page's titles.
Comment 4 Amir Ladsgroup 2013-10-24 17:53:25 UTC
there was a bug in sorting pages in categories in mediawiki (in non-latin languages like Persian and Arabic) It's solved now. and there is no way to sort pages by their page ids in pagegenrator.py and doesn't make sense to implement a heavy script to do that
