jQuery exposes attrHooks which can be used to influence the behaviour of .attr( 'placeholder' ); and .attr( 'placeholder', '...' );

Our jquery.placeholder.js shim should implement one for 'placeholder' so that .attr( 'placeholder', '...' ); behaves like .placeholder( '...' );

I think this works now that I1ecca3d8 is merged, I'd appreciate if you could verify.
