Description Sam Reed (reedy) 2013-10-15 13:46:05 UTC
It seems vewikimedia has now gone off site to http://wikimedia.org.ve/index.php/P%C3%A1gina_principal

It should be cleaned up and moved to closed (or even deleted?)
Comment 1 Sam Reed (reedy) 2013-10-15 23:33:50 UTC
vewikimedia is unaccessible, currently closed. Should be sorted out and marked as deleted

Comment 3 Daniel Zahn 2013-11-05 17:08:39 UTC
http://ve.wikimedia.org/ is a redirect to http://wikimedia.org.ve/index.php/P%C3%A1gina_principal

served by the cluster Apache config. (wikimedia-lb/redirects.conf)

so i expect we definitely want to keep that redirect, which means we don't change DNS or Apache and this change is just deleting old wiki directories and mw-config, right? that would mean the ticket is more "platform" than "ops"
Comment 4 Daniel Zahn 2013-11-05 17:09:54 UTC
Sam, where exactly did you mean "marked deleted"? And do we ever delete databases?

deleted dblist because it is completely unaccessible, just not "closed".

I don't know if we delete the actual database. Probably for the size of it, there's little gain from doing so
Comment 6 Tomasz W. Kozlowski 2014-02-02 13:13:47 UTC
https://ve.wikimedia.org redirects to http://wikimedia.org.ve/wiki/P%C3%A1gina_principal which seems to be alive (retrieved 2014-02-02).

This probably means that we need to clean up our config in InitialiseSettings.php and add the database to deleted.dblist, but keep the Apache redirects?

If so, that's not so much of an ops bug, but rather a regular config request that can be fixed by anyone with Gerrit access.
