hotcat links on VE

On a slow connection in Chrome on beta labs, another race condition:

click edit for wikitext; HotCat Categories links appear; click edit for VE

HotCat stuff stays on the page

I misspoke, no need to invoke the wikitext editor, the Categories links just show up sometimes in Chrome

Merging with bug 43335 - this is a real mess, and I vaguely guess that HotCat is doing something it shouldn't and gets triggered for some reason.

I don't think this is a duplicate, or at least the root cause of 43335 is not explained.

I think this a) only manifests in Chrome and not Firefox and b) is only one of a number of race conditions possible in Chrome.

I agree that we're finding a number of things that look like race conditions using VE in Chrome, which is probably an artefact of the generally terrible quality of MW's front-end JS (including gadgets) with which has to VE interact.

However, the screenshot that you attached is exactly the behaviour I reported in bug 43335, which continues to occur (only in Chrome that I've seen).
