Description WhatamIdoing 2013-10-17 23:13:28 UTC
Intention: To copy a reference (copied from en.wp's article on [[Vanilla]]), using the "+" system within the transclusion editor into another article (Simple English's [[Vanilla]]).

Expectation: That the ref dialog box would display the citation correctly.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Click the menu item to insert a reference.

2) Click the transclusion item to insert a template.

3) Click the "+" and the "[ ]" to insert 'content' rather than individual parameters.

4) Paste in the citation template, copied out of the English Wikipedia. The citation template entered was:
{{cite web | title = FAO's Statistical Database - FAOSTAT | year = 2011 | url = http://faostat3.fao.org}}

5)  Click "Apply changes".

Result:

See https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:VisualEditor_Oct_2013_ref_dialog_box_with_oddly_formatted_citation_template.png

It should have displayed within the reference dialog box as:

"FAO's Statistical Database - FAOSTAT". 2011.

with the first part being the link. Instead, it added a second copy of the URL at the end:

"FAO's Statistical Database - FAOSTAT". 2011.  http://faostat3.fao.org/
