Intention: To remove a stub template Expectation: That the stub template would disappear and everything else (references list, navbox) would remain the same Steps to reproduce: 1) Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gastric_volvulus&oldid=567517399 or (probably) any other article that contains these items on separate, adjacent lines: * A list of references (in this case, a single bulleted list item) * A blank line * A stub template * A navigation template 2) Open the article in VisualEditor. 3) Click on the the stub template to select it. 4) Press the delete/backspace key (it's same key on a Mac) one time to delete the stub template (and nothing else). Result: Instead of getting the slightly shorter expected list: * A list of references (in this case, a single bulleted list item) * A blank line * A navigation template this produced a single line containing both the reference list item and the navbox, with no intervening spaces or lines: * A list of references (in this case, a single bulleted list item)Navigation template This broke the navbox formatting for readers.
Confirmed on Firefox 25/Linux It seems from very quick experimentation that deleting a template also deletes the preceding line.
