Description Brion Vibber 2013-11-01 23:13:05 UTC
I find that a fairly natural thing I want to do when opening the media viewer lightbox is jump to the next photo on the page... Currently finding the close box, then moving your mouse/finger back over to the next image and opening it is a bit awkward.

Recommend including keyboard left/right arrow shortcuts in addition to on-screen controls.

Thanks, Brion!

We totally agree with you on this point, and Next/Previous arrows have been part of our plan all along.

Our goal was to implement this feature in the next sprint that starts in mid-November, if all goes well.

To get the ball rolling, I just started this Mingle ticket:

https://mingle.corp.wikimedia.org/projects/multimedia/cards/63

It's ranked high in our list of features to work on for this spring -- but we have a lot of outstanding tasks on our plate, so I don't know how quickly we can get to it.

Rest assured that it will get done, sooner rather than later. It makes perfect sense for improving the viewing experience of our users. :)

Not actually working on this yet, but will do soon :) bumping down priority.

OK, claiming, we're working on this now.
