Description Alex Z. 2013-11-05 16:54:00 UTC
In trying to port one of my Toolserver tools that uses spatial datatypes, I ran into https://mariadb.atlassian.net/browse/MDEV-4521 which is fixed in 5.5.31

[11:06:24] <MrZ-man> Coren: Any idea when we might upgrade MariaDB?
[11:06:55] <Coren> I wasn't planning on doing it at least until the move to eqiad.
[11:20:11] <Coren> MrZ-man: I could possibly update tools-db early; but the replicas are production and may need to track the masters -- this'll require input from our DBA. Open a bugzilla, and I'll point him at it.

For my specific case, upgrading the replicas would be ideal, but doing just tools-db would work (I join against enwiki_p to build the table initially, but don't need it for regular use of the tool, and only the regular usage is affected by the bug)
Comment 1 Marc A. Pelletier 2013-11-05 16:56:28 UTC
Not certain what the impact on replication might be of an upgrade; assigning Sean so that he can evaluate.
Comment 2 Marc A. Pelletier 2013-11-22 18:39:02 UTC
Upgrading tools-db to 5.5.34; leaving the bug open so that Sean can opine on doing an upgrade on the replicas as well.
Comment 3 Sean Pringle 2014-02-14 07:39:47 UTC
The replicas are now at 5.5.34.
