As of now, test2wiki and mediawiki.org are using the production version of Parsoid on the production host(s). Beta labs cluster is using Parsoid on a host named deployment-parsoidcache. The code on this host is not updated automatically. This means that while Parsoid may be tested in beta labs, it requires specific manual actions by knowledgeable people to install the correct code there each time. There is no pre-deployment test Parsoid in the sense of test2wiki/mediawiki.org at all. Being able to test Parsoid in a public environment reliably would be valuable.
Isn't this a (subsidiary?) duplicate of bug 56622?
seems rather the other way around, scope-wise. Bug 56622 talks about deploying to beta labs. For every other bit of code that we deploy except for Parsoid, we use beta labs as an experimental test environment for potential production features (things can blow up and it doesn't affect anyone's work), and we use test2wiki/mw.o as a staging ground for production, since they are peer nodes on the production cluster, running a potentially release-able production branch. right now the only reliable public Parsoid code we have is in production.
