See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:2620:0:862:1:91:198:174:70 and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Oddbodz#Phantom Warnings - users seem to be getting new message indicators and when they follow them, they are taken to User talk:2620:0:862:1:91:198:174:70 on en.wikipedia.org Some have provided screenshots at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Oddbodz#Phantom Warnings
This appears to be a recurring issue: it had already been reported, and reported fixed, at VPT: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28technical%29#Wikimedia_Foundation_IP_addresses_causing_autoblocks
Mark is already CC'ed here (thanks!) as he commented two days ago: "This was again a problem caused by missing MediaWiki configuration for new Varnish cache servers that we deployed in Europe today. In some cases our cache servers use IPv6 to communicate with eachother, and MediaWiki wasn't yet configured to recognize their IPv6 IPs, causing these misattributed edits. This should have been fixed now. Our apologies!"
(In reply to comment #2) > This should have been fixed now. -> RESOLVED FIXED then
