The ACC tools have a "create account" button, which opens https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin/signup with parameters that fill in the username, etc. The submit button on this form is labeled "Create another account". This is confusing, and can make one think the account with the information in the form above has already been created (particularly since the user just pressed the "create account" button in the previous form in ACC). The word "another" should be either struck or replaced with "this" to correctly identify its action. It's not creating "another" account as far as the current user is concerned (or shouldn't be).
What is "ACC tools"? The form *will* create a second account if the user submitting it is already logged in.
(The button says "Create your account" if the form is used when *not* logged in, and "Create another account" if the form is used when logged in.)
(In reply to comment #1) > What is "ACC tools"? https://toolserver.org/~acc/acc.php I assume.
Errm, to me this sounds rather like something to fix/clarify in ACC, as this is an "external" usecase. Proposing WONTFIX as "another account" feels correct when going to the page while being logged in. If you can come up with a different/better wording though that also works outside of the ACC usecase, that could be discussed. :)
I contend that "Create this account" is still sufficiently accurate for all circumstances, without the confusion. How about setting it to "Create this account" or, better, "Create <username>" when the form is called with the parameters to auto-fill it (as when called by ACC), at least? I still contend that the interpretation of "another" is likely to be confusing in all cases, but this, at least, fixes the most compelling of them, IMO.
Anyway why it's possible to create another account while you are still logged in?
There are circumstances where users can't create an account for themselves; it's useful to know who created it for them. See e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Request_an_account
