I have a wiki with Hebrew contents. There is a page titled "י. פרידמן" that redirects to the page "יהושע פרידמן". The page "י. פרידמן" is missing from the list of redirects. Other pages, like "ל. גולדברג", "הנרי ו. לונגפלו" and "קריסטינה ג'. רוסתי", are also missing from the list of redirects. While all these examples contain the special character ".", some redirection pages with this character, such as "א. א. קאמינגס", do appear in the list. Having a "." in the redirection page title seems to be a necessary but not sufficient condition for the demonstration of the bug. My wiki is in http://poetrans.shoutwiki.com.
Thanks for taking the time to report this! What are the exact steps to see and reproduce this problem (e.g. where is the "list of redirects")?
http://poetrans.shoutwiki.com > Special Pages (if you see Hebrew, I apologize, look for "דפים מיוחדים") > List of redirects (Hebrew: רשימת הפניות)
To complete the reproduction of the problem: 1) List of redirects displays 50 entries by default. Click 500 to make it display all the redirects. Search for "י. פרידמן". You will see that it's not there. 2) In the search box of the navigation pane, search for "י. פרידמן". You will see that there is such a page, and that it redirects you to the page "יהושע פרידמן".
Special:SpecialPages already says "You do not have permission to read this page" so cannot test myself. :( I recommend to also bring this up at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Project:Support_desk

I can see it in an incognito chrome browser window, so you should be able to see it, too.
(In reply to comment #5) > Do you not have permissions to see this page? Seems to be an issue that my Firefox has (or some extensions). It does work with Google Chrome now. Place to go is /w/index.php?title=%D7%9E%D7%99%D7%95%D7%97%D7%93:%D7%A8%D7%A9%D7%99%D7%9E%D7%AA_%D7%94%D7%A4%D7%A0%D7%99%D7%95%D7%AA&limit=500&offset=0 which shows all redirects. I can confirm that י. פרידמן is a redirect and that it is not listed. Wondering how to debug this further and whether it's a potential I18N issue...
Wondering if https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:How_to_debug could provide anything related.

It turns out that having a "." in the redirection page title is NOT a necessary condition: the redicrection page "יוהן וולפגנג פון גתה" is missing from the redirect list, too.
It's extremely unlikely for this to be a MediaWiki bug. IIRC, shoutwiki.com wikis were recreated by importing the XML dumps I made some time ago: probably the links tables are not properly populated and/or have some ghost entries. Please ask the sysadmins to run refreshLinks.php (ashley/Jack, can you help?) and let us know if that's not enough.
Will do.
Ofra: Any news?
