Sometimes I do not get notifications when my username is mentioned and linked. I cannot recognize any rule behind it – user:Pajz used both direct linking to my userpage and using the {{ping}} template as well as his signature used both the English ("User:") and local (German, "Benutzer:") namespacenames. EXAMPLES (all mentions by user:Pajz in de.wikipedia) 1) https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hilfe_Diskussion:Echo&diff=125090427&oldid=125090374 (using {{Ping}} and signing with "Benutzer:") 2) https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Urheberrechtsfragen&diff=125007163&oldid=125006210 (direct link to my userpage, signing with "User:") 3) https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Urheberrechtsfragen&diff=125012204&oldid=125009701 (using {{Ping}} and signing with "User:") IN CONTRAST, I get notifications when other users mention my username. However, I have been notified of this mention of user:Pajz: https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hilfe_Diskussion:Echo&diff=125149217&oldid=125149061 I still do not see any rule behind this bug.
Mentions require a signature to be present on the same line right now AFAIK, see the discussion on bug 53132 and bug 56739.
1) is similar to bug 54639 (the diff algorithm thinks the comment was inserted into the previous comment, which didn't give a complete signature and probably prevented the notification). 2) is bug 53132. 3) is both bug 53132 and bug 56739.
