Description Mohamed Ouda 2013-12-11 19:01:23 UTC
Please we need to change the logo of the Arabic Wikipedia in celebration of reaching the 250,000 article milestone. Previously this was done by uploading a new version of the logo to File:Wiki.png. but I did it on https://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%85%D9%84%D9%81:Wikipedia-logo.png and it didn't work , the new logo is also on commons on
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-ar-250k-vector.svg
Comment 1 Bawolff (Brian Wolff) 2013-12-11 19:04:49 UTC
Note, currently the logo of arwiki is set to whatever [[commons:File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-ar.png]], so one could upload over that file (Just make sure it has the same dimensions).

Or alternatively a shell user can set the logo to something different temporarily
Comment 2 Tomasz W. Kozlowski 2013-12-11 19:14:36 UTC
I'm told overwriting the logo is considered inelegant, because it will show the temporary logo everywhere, including encyclopaedic articles on, say, Wikipedia (you know, the encyclopaedia); and that therefore adding a custom CSS rule into local Common.css is preferred as a solution.

In either case, that's outside of Bugzilla reach & competence.
