If the search starts with a namespace and yields a suggestion then add the namespace back to the suggestion. Search for "Special:searc" and it should suggest "Special:search" not "search".
Since we're never supposed to index special pages the example is invalid but the theory remains valid. Here is the example from the tests: When I search for Template:nobel piep Then Template:*noble pipe* is suggested
