In the smallest, most compact view of Flow, we're still only loading 10 discussions at a time. I often reach the bottom of the page and have to wait a second or two for more topics to load. We should load more than 10 topics by default (20-30?) in the most compact view, especially once we make it even more compact (compactiest?).
The WMF core features team tracks this bug on Mingle card https://mingle.corp.wikimedia.org/projects/flow/cards/618, but people from the community are welcome to contribute here and in Gerrit.
