I'm also a Kindle user, and I believe there are many more Wikimedia users using Kindle. It would be great if Wikimedia projects add kindle format (.mobi) putout to the "Create a Book" option in the left bar, which is very useful for reading Wikisource books.

Doesn't Kindle read PDFs already?

Yes. But because PDF format is complex while the processor (on Kindle Paperwhite) is not powerful, the experience is bad.

the wikimedia foundation will replace mwlib with their own rendering pipeline. epub, zim and odf output will be removed.

Even existing epub, zim and odf output will be removed? That's a bad news.

wmr: Please ask you questions on the Talk page of the wikipage that you refer to, as that is the obvious place where to bring them up instead. Thanks.
