The fact that the recent changes' legend is floated to the left causes it to display poorly on narrow screen resolutions or window viewport sizes. When narrowing the browser window, the content in the "Recent Changes options" box begins to be effected by wordwrap until it is hardly usable anymore. Perhaps using some @media query to remove the float the element has at narrower resolutions would be good.
A "collapse" button has just been added to it, have you seen it?

The messages were now split into two groups, one used in the tooltips and one used in the legend, e.g. recentchanges-label-newpage and recentchanges-legend-newpage. You can modify the latter to use more concise wording. I hope this will suffice. :)
