Description Magnus Manske 2013-12-27 21:29:06 UTC
Trying to remove some files gets me

rm: cannot remove `20131120.main.wdq': Read-only file system

This is bad, as the tool cannot update from Wikidata anymore (needs temporary disk space). Bug reports to me start to pile up :-(

Also, if it's not too much trouble could I get a few GB more in /home (currently 12GB), or some mounted alternate storage location?

Thanks,
Magnus

What project is that, and why are you using /home for persistent storage? (You should really use project storage, not /home).
Comment 2 Magnus Manske 2013-12-30 10:47:39 UTC
Machine is wikidata-wdq-mm
Project is wikidata-dev

I am using /home because it's the only location I know to have access to :-(

Bump. Can you at least make /home/magnus writable there? I know it's only been ten days or so since I asked, but...

WDQ is the engine behind several tools in use for Wikidata including "Widar". It has been developing nicely and its use is increasing.

It will benefit the use of Wikidata and the number of edits for Wikidata a lot when WDQ has the room to develop. Magnus IS a trusted developer. He started MediaWiki after all.
Thanks,

I just learned that it also effects the statistics used by Wikidata..
Thanks,

It's the usual gluster headache. I've restarted the volume, and things should work now.
