This issue was converted from https://jira.toolserver.org/browse/REPORTS-33. Summary: Use JS to display a loading screen for reports Issue type: Improvement - An improvement or enhancement to an existing feature or task. Priority: Major Status: Resolved Assignee: Merlijn van Deen <valhallasw@arctus.nl> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: River Tarnell <river.tarnell@wikimedia.de> Date: Thu, 18 Sep 2008 01:36:00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When a slow query is run (particularly one that's usually cached), it can take some time for the page to load. Instead of waiting for the entire page to load, load a placeholder page (with some kind of 'please wait' icon), and replace the content with the report when it's finished loading, via XMLHttpRequest. Needs to be done in a way that still works for non-JS users.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Merlijn van Deen <valhallasw@arctus.nl> Date: Thu, 02 Aug 2012 19:57:18 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is no longer a problem with the new asynchronous caching system.
