Some templates are enterer like substitution. As the first step it seems to me to be able to add them as a subst via VE. Or is it possible to subst them automatically using VE?

Thanks for sharing your idea. 
The bug title does not describe a bug but a solution or feature / new functionality. Hence setting priority to enhancement.
