This is an enhancement request.

What I want to suggest is to be able to filter (or to map) by xml attributes, too. Currently, we can only map by [first level] elements. This is bad to formats like MARCXML (a standard in the library community enviroment). See, for example, this MARCXML record: 
http://www.loc.gov/standards/marcxml/Sandburg/sandburg.xml
