Description Magnus Manske 2014-01-07 15:36:35 UTC
The VM

https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:I-0000073a

is running Wikidata Query (WDQ). It currently uses disk space in /home, which is less than ideal. I would like some disk space (dedicated or shared) to use for this purpose. 16GB should do easily for now, more won't harm :-)

Thanks,
Magnus

Project administrators can enable per-project storage from the manage project link on the sidebar.
Comment 2 Aude 2014-01-07 15:58:11 UTC
You can put stuff in /data/project (ideally in subfolder, since it's shared)
Comment 3 Magnus Manske 2014-01-07 15:59:14 UTC
No, I can't:

magnus@wikidata-wdq-mm:~$ touch /data/project/testing
touch: cannot touch `/data/project/testing': Permission denied

Comment 5 Magnus Manske 2014-01-07 16:42:25 UTC
So, could anyone give me permissions to write to /data/project? Please?
Comment 6 Aude 2014-01-07 16:58:38 UTC
/data/project is mounted storage and appears to be owned by root. This is apparently how it is supposed to work, per chat on #wikimedia-labs

People in the project can sudo and then create a directory. Then you can change the permissions for it.
Comment 7 Magnus Manske 2014-01-08 09:33:26 UTC
Thanks, that worked!
