Description Eliyahu Neiman 2014-01-15 04:17:10 UTC
Situation:
1. Page:Book_A.djvu/1 contains a link to Page:Book_B.djvu/23
2. This link is clicked on, sending user to Page:Book_B.djvu/23
3. The navigation (<>^) links now behaves as though user is instead at Page:Book_A/djvu/23

See for example //en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Mrs._Beeton%27s_Book_of_Household_Management_(Part_1).djvu/22

Many of the links on this Table of Contents page are to pages in the second volume, triggering the described behavior.

Actually, it seems this may be a problem associated with only this document. Not sure why that would be, though.
Comment 2 Andre Klapper 2014-01-15 10:33:08 UTC
The two arrows < > next to the "Page | Discussion | Image" tabs on the top do link to "Part 1" in Firefox 26. What are exact steps to reproduce this problem?

@Eliyahu Neiman
Could you please describe the steps to reproduce the problem with
//en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Mrs._Beeton%27s_Book_of_Household_Management_(Part_1).djvu/22

I haven't managed to reproduce the problem so I'm unable to work on it.

Hi,

I looked into it again, and I now believe that the problem occurs when the page is linked from the index of another work.

Here are the steps to reproduce:

1) Go to https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management (Part 2).djvu/136
2) Click the back arrow to arrive at https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Mrs_Beeton%27s_Book_of_Household_Management_(Part_2).djvu/135
3) Click on the forward (or back, or up) arrow.
4) Notice that you are now, looking at https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management (Part 1).djvu/136
5) You have moved from Part 2 to Part 1 unexpectedly!

The difference seems to be that /135 is linked via the Table of Contents at https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index:Mrs._Beeton%27s_Book_of_Household_Management_(Part_1).djvu , while /136 is not linked. I confirmed this by removing the link, observing that the forward/back buttons worked as expected, and restoring the link, observing that the bad behavior returned.

Thanks a lot. I've managed to reproduce the bug.

I'll try to solve it but I'm not sure to be able to do so because there are some Wikisource that use sometime only one Index: page for two or more files. As example, in this use case, they would use an "Index:Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management" for the two parts.
