If the approved bots are ignored from #wmt-newpages and #wmt-blocks then the channels will be more useful.
"Approved" bots are an enwiki concept; checking for bot flags seems the logical solution.
Fixed for newpages. John, can you help me with the patch? I am not very familiar with git, but I've fixed it in bots/slaves.
I'm not sure it's possible to tell whether a block was made by a bot or not. It might be better to get the operator working and ignore each manually, unless you can show me another way of doing this.

See my above comments. In my opinion, there are two ways to do this. We can either chose to ignore the users with the "bot" local or global group, or set an ignore list manually. By the way, the *or* is not exclusive.
