Apparently the problem is on JS, because when I click the button it doesn't slide from off to on position. Can be fixed the problem or at least implemented (somewhere) a link that can refresh the page applying the "on choice"? Note: Cookie works because when I open https://it.wikivoyage.org I'm logged in. PS I use a BB mobile phone.
Can you paste your user agent please? You can find it out here: http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9300; it) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.600 Mobile Safari/534.8+
Prioritization and scheduling of this bug is tracked on Mingle card https://wikimedia.mingle.thoughtworks.com/projects/mobile/cards/1655
I tried to reproduce this in the BlackBerry browser using the BlackBerry 10 Device Simulator within VMWare Fusion. The sliding buttons worked for me. UserAgent string was: Mozilla/5.0 (BB10; Touch) AppleWebKit/537.35+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.2.1.1925 Mobile Safari/537.35+
It looks like the BlackBerry OS that you're using is quite old (from 2010) and no long supported by BlackBerry. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find an emulator for it.
I imagine it's some incompatibility with a particular jQuery function. Apparently BlackBerry Browser 6.0 is WebKit-based and is supposed to have pretty good JS support, so I would be reluctant to remove it from the supported list in resources/startup.js, however.
All that I can say is that I'm available to make further test if needed. Just let me know. Otherwise, if there's nothing to do, just eliminate "me" by the compatibility list :-)
I'll see if I can dig up an actual old BlackBerry to test on...
I managed to dig up an old BlackBerry with the exact same version browser (6.0.0.600) and the sliding buttons on Special:MobileOptions work fine for me. Did you click the "Save" button after using the sliding buttons? The Save button is at the bottom of the screen, so if you have a small screen you might not have seen it.
Ryan, maybe there's a misunderstanding. My problem it's not related to the "save" button (that I see and I can press), my problem is related to the "sliding button" that doesn't work; when I press them, nothing happens. Just to double check, could you you show here the result of http://whatsmyuseragent.com on the mobile that you have used? Please open this ticket again. I think is important to understand where is the issue, if not in the core software.
(In reply to comment #9) > I managed to dig up an old BlackBerry with the exact same version browser > (6.0.0.600) and the sliding buttons on Special:MobileOptions work fine for > me. As per that comment, Ryan cannot reproduce. There's not much to fix if developers cannot reproduce the problem. Hence the WORKSFORME.
