Description Adam Wight 2014-01-29 07:30:39 UTC
The page-level edit button should probably have the same meaning as top-level Edit on the desktop site? Instead, it opens only the intro section of the article for editing.

I didn't have the heart to save the content, to see if it replaces just the zero-th section, or whether it replaces the entire document... :(

Prioritization and scheduling of this bug is tracked on Mingle card https://wikimedia.mingle.thoughtworks.com/projects/mobile/cards/1660

The behaviour on mobile is different by design. Mobile only supports section editing so the top level button means edit the first section.

We explored opening the first section and allowing tabbing between sections but we discovered that was confusing to users. Also opening the entire lead section was deemed to be a bit overwhelming.

cc'ing design in case they want to revisit this.

Fair enough!

Designwise, maybe a clue such as an onhover description "edit this section", for the first edit link at least.
