the change at the following address https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/107161/
switched to the use of wfShellExecWithStderr, but that function is not available on mediawiki 1.21 or previous.

Master of extensions aren't guaranteed to work with older mediawiki releases.

Use the 1.21 branch?
