steps to reproduce:

1.Open a page with VE
2.Go to Insert>Gallery 
3.Insert a gallery

Observed Result:
The newly inserted gallery is not highlighted but the gallery inspector icon is appearing at the corner of the page which is not consistent with the behavior observed with other link inspectors like Math/Hiero

Test Environment: http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/
Browser: Chrome Version 26.0.1410.65 & FF 25
OS: MAC OS X 10. 8. 5

Actually, every time when I try to select the newly inserted gallery , it seems its not selecting it as it does not get highlighted like the usual selection behavior, however the gallery inserter icon appears at the far right end.

mwGallery is not in the insert menu anymore, but testing locally they do appear to highlight correctly if they are re-enabled.
