We'd like a widget that works as an extension of the existing MenuInputWidget (drop-down selection) that lets the user write-in a value that doesn't appear in the list.

Example use cases:

1) User is asked to set a reference group, choosing from a selection of existing ones, or entering a new one.

2) User is asked to set an image's size bounding box, choosing from a selection of recommended ones, or entering a specific one.

In Windows I believe this is called a ComboBox.

Yes, but styled differently to only show suggestions as a pop-over.
