Description Alan 2014-03-06 13:04:39 UTC
Hi!

Due to the increase of spambots on es.wikivoyage we added anti-abuse filters imported from other projects and uses the automatic blocking.

Thanks in advance.

[Moving to "Wikimedia" product as this request is about settings / configuration of the website, not about the codebase of the AbuseFilter extension itself.]
Comment 2 Andre Klapper 2014-03-06 17:05:32 UTC
For any configuration change, we normally require a local consensus. Could you discuss the matter on the Village pump page of your wiki (or any other appropriate place) to confirm that this change is wanted by the community, and paste the link to the discussion here?

For more information about how to request these kinds of changes, please see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requesting_wiki_configuration_changes and feel free to forward that link to others who may want similar changes made in the future. Thanks!

Please provide a required value for $wgAbuseFilterBlockDuration; if not set, it defaults to 'indefinite'.

For reference, the following Spanish projects have set it to:

* eswikibooks: 24 hours
* eswiktionary: 2 days

You can see how other projects set this value at https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=abusefilter.php
Comment 5 Alan 2014-03-11 21:00:26 UTC
Oh! sorry

With 24h is ok, if is needed more time an administrator can change duration.

Change 118206 had a related patch set uploaded by Odder:
Let AbuseFilter block users on Spanish Wikivoyage

Comment 7 LlamaAl 2014-03-14 02:22:02 UTC
I think the duration of the blocks should be indefinite, as on wikis using the GAF. I have asked the eswikivoyage community their input on the matter. [1]

Kind regards.
Comment 8 LlamaAl 2014-03-17 00:33:18 UTC
Consensus exists in favor of setting 24 hours as the default value. [1]
