Description Purodha Blissenbach 2014-03-10 09:59:59 UTC
Currently, WikiLexicalData bugs have to be filed as "other", but should be e-mailed directly to the developers who could take care of them. I suggest:
- Kipmaster (asked to confirm assignment)
- Hiong3-eng5 (asked to confirm assignment)
- and myself
as default bug report receivers.

Thanks.

Thanks for filing this!
For the records: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WikiLexicalData

This always makes me wonder what exactly https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?component=OmegaWiki&product=MediaWiki%20extensions&resolution=--- is for, but I guess that's offtopic. :P

Alright, I'm going to wait for confirmation from Kipmaster and Hiong3-eng5.

Kipmaster says: "there is already a component OmegaWiki.
At best, the name should be maybe WikiLexicalData/Omegawiki"

Indeed, imho there is little use at the moment to keep Omegawiki and the WikiLexicalData extension in separate. Yet naming might be an issue, since I did not find "Omegawiki" when I was trying to file bug 56220.

There is no way to have a redirect WikiLexicalData -> OmegaWiki, is there?

If we were picky, nowadays, WikiLexicalData is the extension, and OmegaWiki is the wiki using it - likely the only one using it for production.

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=MediaWiki%20extensions says: "OmegaWiki: OmegaWiki website (using Wikidata)". And I've never understood what that means and what the scope is as it predates me...

Not easily, no. :(

Assuming that you know OmegaWiki better than I do, taking a look at its tickets in https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?component=OmegaWiki&resolution=--- I'd love to know which extension(s) these tickets are in and where the codebase(s) is/are located. :-/

I reviewed all open bugs and most wontfix/works-for-me bugs in the Omegawiki component, cleaning up some of them and putting everything deeming relevant on my list of things to take care of. (I know some may take a long time)

The codebase for all of them is the WikiLexicalData extension, imho. So it's in git/gerrit.

Thanks so much, Purodha! I appreciate this. I owe you a drink. :)

I see...thanks for clarifying.
So, what do we do now? Rename Bugzilla's "OmegaWiki" component to something like "Omegawiki/WikiLexicalData"? :-/

Oops I forgot to contribute to the conversation...

If it fits in the menu, please rename the "OmegaWiki" to "WikiLexicalData/OmegaWiki".

I believe it is usually extension names that are used, so it's best to write WikiLexicalData first. But "WikiLexicalData/OmegaWiki" is better than just "WikiLexicalData" since the normal users of OmegaWiki do not know what the extension is called.

Thanks :)

I agree with Kipmaster.

Name updated to 'WikiLexicalData/OmegaWiki' in Bugzilla; link to Bugzilla added on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WikiLexicalData
