Hello.

I have uploaded to the screenshots of Urdu Wikipedia with the bugs which can be seen clearly here in the two files.

In that case of # urdubug1, the bug is resulting in the double typing of Input Letters on Urdu Wikipedia - In this case the input letters a-r-d-o or اردو for the Urdu language name results in the text ااررددوو under the "sauti" or phonetic keyboard of the ULS for Urdu Wikipedia.

In the case of # urdubug2, the bug is resulting in the typing of two different letters for every typed input Letter on Urdu Wikipedia - In this case the input letters four letter a-r-d-o results in the text with eight letters مادرردصو for the "transliteration" selection of the ULS for Urdu Wikipedia

See attachment. It seems OK to me. Let me know if that is fine, we can then investigate further.

What browser? What gadgets do you have enabled? Does it include something like اردو کلیدی تختہ (آزمائشی)?

Mozilla Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer. The problem surfaces occasionally, and again disappears. Normalcy and abnormality are both unstable.

Muzammil, can you please clarify:
1. On which keyboard layout does it happen? Sawti (prnetic) or Transliteration?
2. Which gadgets do you use? Does it happen if you are logged out?

So this is about two separate issues in two input methods? I'm still lacking steps to reproduce; your screenshots are of little use for people not knowing the language, because what is obvious to you is invisible to them. The language team has better knowledge of such scripts so they may still be able to understand, but this bug report is very unclear.

If I type "ardo" with the first input method available for ur, I get "مدرج"; with the second input method, I get "اردہ". Is that wrong? In any case, it doesn't match what you said, so I'm missing something. It would be helpful to have clear steps to reproduce the problem you face on any machine.

You are right - it is about two separate issues.

The main problem is "inconsistency"

Some computers the same problem exists what I reported earlier.

When I just checked the first input method available for ur, I get "مدرص"; a slight variation from your observation.

When I just typed for the second input method, I got "اردو"; which is the right outcome against what you reported above.

There is also a problem of ligatures - we find "فراءض" on the screen in place of "فرائض" i.e. proper ligatures are not formed.
