The error

Steps to reproduce:


1.Open a page with VE which has slug in it
2.Place your cursor in the slug and open the math inspector
3.Now type something inside the math inspector


Observed Issue 1: 
It throws an error:
Cannot call method 'update' of null

And if you insert the math function and save the page and then go to edit source , you will see an empty math rag has also been added to the page

Browser: Chrome Version 26.0.1410.65 & FF 25
OS: MAC OS X 10. 8. 5
