Description Tim Ivorson 2014-03-24 07:36:51 UTC
To reproduce
Create a link by double square bracketing part of a word, such that there is an umlaut outside the brackets (eg, [[Maß]]krüge).

Actual result
Although the page text and link destination are as expected, the word containing the link only becomes a link up to (and not including) the umlaut.

Expected result
The whole word should become a link.

Other info
The bug can currently be seen in the image caption in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litre#Definition

Thanks for taking the time to report this!

This is a duplicate; I just cannot find the original report...

This is controlled by the regex in $linkTrail in the language files and for english there are only the letters a-z. You can change it to [[Maß|Maßkrüge]] to fix this on a english wiki.
Works as expected.
